Pachanga is big party style Latino Music Festival held every year since 2008 in America’s Music Capitol and definitely one of the coolest things to do in Austin. It’s a great place to get exposed to some great music from traditional and new age artists pumping out everything from latin-inspired music to pop-inspired latin tunes. Pachanga actually translates to lively party in Spanish. Which makes sense… considering in their first year (2008) they had 2,000 people come out! President Obama is going to be making the first of several stops today on his Jobs and Opportunity Tour, in our very own city of Austin. Here’s what White House representative, Todd Park, says about it: “…we’re looking forward to showcasing the innovative spirit of Austin, as a model for the rest of the country.” So here’s the $16 trillion dollar question: is the President coming here to learn, or to preach? If you’re looking at selling a house, you probably have two goals in mind: get as much as you can, and sell as quickly as you can. Mobility 35 is the organization dedicated to collecting proposals and public feedback on ways to improve traffic flow through Austin i35. Recently, architect Sinclair Black has suggested moving the entire interstate [between Lady Bird Lake and 15th Street] underground; a concept which is quickly gaining a lot of support and traction. The news crew over at KVUE hit the streets to get residents’ reactions, all of which seemed to be positive. The major notion is that i35 acts as a makeshift border through the town, and really not much to look at. One of the first questions people usually have when they come to Austin is about things to do in Austin. Obviously, you come to a city like this, you want to get out and live life. (This is not a quiet backwater town). So, I’ll be sharing some of that with you.
