Things To Do In Austin: Pachanga Latino Music Festival
Pachanga is big party style Latino Music Festival held every year since 2008 in America’s Music Capitol and definitely one of the coolest things to do in Austin. It’s a great place to get exposed to some great music from traditional and new age artists pumping out everything from latin-inspired music to pop-inspired latin tunes. Pachanga actually translates to lively party in Spanish. Which makes sense… considering in their first year (2008) they had 2,000 people come out! Here’s a video made for last year’s festival: The party kicks off today at Fiesta Gardens and will run through tomorrow. The organizers want the event to be as comfortable for the community to enjoy and they’ve asked attendees to park West of Fiesta Gardens...
President Obama To Visit Austin To Talk About Job Creation
President Obama is going to be making the first of several stops today on his Jobs and Opportunity Tour, in our very own city of Austin. Here’s what White House representative, Todd Park, says about it: “…we’re looking forward to showcasing the innovative spirit of Austin, as a model for the rest of the country.” So here’s the $16 trillion dollar question: is the President coming here to learn, or to preach? It’s great that President Obama recognizes Austin’s leadership in creating jobs and hosting a model economy, but it has nothing to do with anything he’s proposed so far, and in fact, most of the rhetoric coming from Washington stands in stark opposition to the philosophy of Austin and the great state of...
The Secret Sauce FORMULA For Selling A House NOW
If you’re looking at selling a house, you probably have two goals in mind: get as much as you can, and sell as quickly as you can. No one wants to be stuck in a house for months, but how to accomplish this? Well, first and foremost, your house should be “market ready.” None of this weak ‘as-is’ stuff. How does it make sense to save $2,000 on repairs, just have your house sit on the market for a month or more (when it shouldn’t have to) and pay another $2,000 mortgage bill? It doesn’t make sense, does it? That’s what they call being pennywise and pound foolish. So market ready takes care of things like: Painting Landscaping Fix everything that’s apparently broken (cracked windows, leaky faucets, etc) Get your...
Sick Of The Traffic On 35 Austin? – Mobility 35 Is Here To Help With A Major i35 Improvement
Mobility 35 is the organization dedicated to collecting proposals and public feedback on ways to improve traffic flow through Austin i35. Recently, architect Sinclair Black has suggested moving the entire interstate [between Lady Bird Lake and 15th Street] underground; a concept which is quickly gaining a lot of support and traction. The news crew over at KVUE hit the streets to get residents’ reactions, all of which seemed to be positive. The major notion is that i35 acts as a makeshift border through the town, and really not much to look at. Sinking interstate 35 would open up a large expanse of developable Real Estate and do wonders to bring the ‘East’ and ‘West’ communities together, raising property values across the...
Things To Do In Austin – The “Iron Man” Marathon!
One of the first questions people usually have when they come to Austin is about things to do in Austin. Obviously, you come to a city like this, you want to get out and live life. (This is not a quiet backwater town). So, I’ll be sharing some of that with you. Here’s one thing coming up very soon: The Iron Man Marathon / Iron Man 3 Screening A friend of mine who absolutely loves Iron Man, does not live in Austin, has nothing like this happening around him and heard about this event and is fuming that he can’t go to it. Gotta get to Austin buddy! I tend to talk a lot about Austin’s nightlife, and businesses and other things to do in Austin like that, which are all flourishing, but I want to paint a complete picture here, too. Austin...
